It's Midterm Season!

It’s hard to believe that the semester is already halfway over. This has been the fastest semester of my life to date, but it has also been the busiest. Midterm season came faster than I thought it would. With clinic and all of my classes, as well as balancing a job and making time for myself so I don’t collapse, finding time to study seems impossible.

Time Management 101

The biggest adjustment from high school to college has to be time management. In high school, you’re in school for eight hours a day, participating in extracurricular activities, and you still have to eat and do homework. You barely have time to think on this busy schedule, and everything has a set time for when it gets done. When you get into college, you suddenly have more free time than you know what to do with. This may seem like a good thing, but free time is actually a double-edged …

Grad School Jitters

You always hear the old cliché that time flies, but you never really believe it until it actually hits you. It feels like just yesterday I was starting my college experience. Now, it’s my senior year and I’m starting graduate school. It’s hard to believe that in a year I’ll be finishing up with my schooling and getting into the nitty gritty of real adult life. It’s honestly a little scary how fast time is moving and grad school is more than a little …

Diving Right In to the Practical Side

Everyone knows that the best part of school is actually diving into your major. It's when things really get exciting. Being a speech major, I’ve been lucky enough to have speech classes sprinkled throughout my semesters at Misericordia. This year, I’m actually getting into the practical use of everything I’ve learned so far. I’m enrolled in Optional Clinic for the spring semester, and I’m having the time of my life.

Just when you thought that it was too late to be accepted, Misericordia University sends you an invitation to apply. It is an exciting yet anxiety-filled moment since so many of your friends have already made their decision about college. Plus, you are not even sure if Misericordia has the programs and activities that you want.

Moving Off-Campus ... Again

The start of a new year always come with some changes. Different classes and schedules are expected by a junior student. As the years go on, it seems my life keeps seeing bigger and bigger changes. In the middle of my spring semester sophomore year, I was approached by a teammate and was offered a room in her apartment that she shared with another former teammate of mine. After thinking about different aspects, both monetary and not, and several reassurances to my mom and grandmother that I …

A Once-in-a-Lifetime Parisian Journey

Hemingway in Paris poster

“Paris est une fête” was this year’s theme for the International Hemingway Conference in Paris—and it sure was a moveable feast for our little group that brought Misericordia across the Atlantic for great experiences, both academic and cultural. Every moment of our time in Paris brought new and exciting things (places, people, knowledge, and most importantly, food) for myself and my friends, and we are still amazed to have had the opportunity to learn in such a breathtaking place. We had the …
